Removable Partial Dentures
The new, artificial replacement teeth are affixed to a pink or gum-colored plastic foundation in a removable partial denture. A metal framework may occasionally be used to keep the denture in place within the mouth.
When a patient has several lost teeth but still has one or more natural teeth in the upper jaw or lower jaw, partial removable dentures are the best solution. This is due to the requirement that removable partial dentures be precisely fastened to natural teeth using clasps or some other type of mechanism.
